WHAT THEY DO THEY HOLD ME TO A VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS. HOLD ALL OF OUR CREW TO VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR CHILDREN, SO WE REALLY DO APPRECIATE THEM AS THEY AS THEY LEAVE THE DISTRICT AND TRULY SET THE TONE FOR THE DISTRICT. WE WANT THE OUR KIDS AND ALL OF OUR STAKEHOLDERS TO BE ENGAGED IN SO I WANTED YOU TO SEE THAT BECAUSE I WANT TO PROVIDE AN INVITATION. YOU'RE GOING ALL OF YOU ARE GOING TO GET AN INVITATION. PROBABLY THIS FALL, THE NEW SUPERINTENDENT WIN WHEN HE OR SHE IS NAMED. ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THEY'RE GOING TO DO IS THEY'RE GOING TO CREATE A NEW STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK. IT'S THAT TIME AND THESE USUALLY LAST FOUR OR FIVE YEARS FOR US, SO WE'RE AT THE END OF THESE THOSE THINGS THAT I SHOWED YOU WE JUST KIND OF BREAK DOWN THE ENTIRE DISTRICT AND KIND OF WE BRING IN AS MANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS COMMUNITY LEADERS AS WE CAN. THIS WAS DEVELOPED IN 2018 WITH ABOUT 90 PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE DISTRICT AND IT WAS GREAT. IT WAS A GREAT EXERCISE. SO, UM AT LEAST ONE OF YOU. WE WOULD LOVE FOR AT LEAST ONE LEADER FROM EACH COMMUNITY FROM EACH CITY COUNCIL OF ALL OF OUR COMMUNITIES TO BE INVOLVED IN THIS AND JUST GET YOUR VOICE OF WHAT WE THINK IS IMPORTANT FOR OUR CHILDREN FOR SCHOOLS AND FOR OUR DISTRICT. SO BE READY FOR THAT SOMETIME THIS FALL. YOU KNOW WHEN THE NEW SUPERINTENDENT REALLY GROUNDS IN THAT SORT OF THING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO REALLY DIVE INTO TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT. OKAY IF YOU HAVE THAT SHOWED YOU THIS LATELY, THIS IS US 234 SQUARE MILES. WE ARE NOW THE NUMBER ONE GROWING SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THIS AREA IN THE METROPLEX, AND I'LL SHOW YOU THE NUMBERS HERE IN JUST A SECOND WITH THE OPENING OF THE NEW BERKSHIRE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WHERE 31 CAMPUSES THIS YEAR AND OF COURSE, ALL OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND THAT THAT'S US. WE HAVE AT LEAST ONE KID AND EVERY COMMUNITY. YOU SEE THERE, MOST OF THEM WE HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF KIDS AND GROWING, AND SO WE'RE VERY PROUD TO REPRESENT THE 14 OF US AS AS WHAT MAKES UP NORTHWEST. I ESTATE. OKAY SO THIS IS THE NUMBER. THAT WAS THE BIGGEST SURPRISE FOR US THIS YEAR. AND FOLKS, WE, YOU KNOW, JUST LIKE YOU DO YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC REPORTS AND UNDERSTAND YOUR GROWTH. WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME AND TIM MCCLURE FOR WHICH MANY OF YOU KNOW TIM. HE AND HIS PLANNING GROUP DOING A WONDERFUL JOB OF KNOWING WHAT OUR GROWTH IS GOING TO BE LIKE. BUT WE DID NOT SEE THIS NUMBER COMING THIS YEAR. WE THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO 26,000 TOTAL KIDS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE PANDEMIC GOING ON. WE JUST DIDN'T THINK OF MANY FAMILIES WOULD KEEP MOVING AROUND. IN FACT, YOU KNOW, THE NORMAL GROWTH THAT WE ALWAYS SUSTAINED IS ABOUT 1000 NEW KIDS A YEAR. THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN FOR. PROBABLY THE LAST 10 TO 12 YEARS. WELL WE NOW AGAIN, YOU SEE THAT THAT COMES DIRECTLY FROM OUR DEMOGRAPHIC REPORTS. THE HOME STARTS THE CLOSINGS, EVERYTHING. WE ARE PRETTY MUCH NUMBER ONE IN THIS AREA. DIDN'T PROSPER. ONLY WE PRETTY MUCH LEAPFROGGED ALL FOUR OF THEM. THOSE ARE THE FACT THAT WE'RE THE FASTEST GROWING DISTRICTS IN THE STATE. WE WERE ALWAYS 3RD 4TH OR FIFTH AND NOW WE'RE NUMBER ONE, AND WE PROBABLY WON'T GO DOWN FOR A WHILE JUST BECAUSE OF THE CAPACITY FOR GROWTH THAT WE HAVE IN THE ENTIRE SCHOOL DISTRICT. UM SO ALL THE PROJECTIONS THAT I'VE SHOWN YOU OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS WE HAVE REVISED NOW AND THERE'S A AND, OF COURSE, THE WAY WE GROW AND MARK AND THE BOARD MEMBERS THAT WE DON'T GET A DEMOGRAPHIC. STUDY EVERY YEAR . WE DO ONE EVERY QUARTER JUST BECAUSE IT CHANGES EVERY QUARTER . BUT NOW WE ARE PLANNING PROCESSES NOW IS THAT WE WERE PROBABLY FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 5 TO 10 YEARS WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO PLAN FOR 2000. MORE CHILDREN IN THE DISTRICT EVERY YEAR. NEW KIDS SHOWING UP YOU KNOW THE KIDS ARE GOING TO GRADUATE. THEY'RE GOING TO LEAVE US, BUT THE KIDS WHO ARE GETTING OLD ENOUGH TO COME INTO THE DISTRICT AND THE FAMILIES MOVING IN. WE'RE AGING ABOUT 2000 MORE THAN WE WERE SO NOW FOR EVERY LIKE THE LAST TIME I GAVE YOU A PRESENTATION WE WERE PLANNING [00:10:02] FOR ABOUT 5000 KIDS, ADDITIONAL KIDS EVERY FIVE YEARS AND THEN YOU WILL SEE AS OF THIS LAST DECEMBER. MANY OF YOU ARE IN OUR SCHOOLS, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW WHAT OUR KIDS LOOK LIKE. SO THAT WHEN I SHOW THAT SLIDE, THAT DOESN'T REALLY SURPRISED A LOT OF PEOPLE. WHAT ARE OUR STUDENT DIVERSITY? LOOKS LIKE THE NEXT SLIDE DOES SURPRISE A LOT OF PEOPLE, AND IT JUST KIND OF TELLS YOU THE CHALLENGES ARE CLASSROOM. TEACHERS HAVE RIGHT NOW WE'RE SERVING 56 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. THE KIDS WHO DO NOT HAVE COMMAND OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON AND BY STATE LAW. WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE IN COMMAND OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS BEFORE THEY LEAVE US. AND OUR TEACHERS SERVED 56 OR 55 OTHER LANGUAGES BESIDES ENGLISH EVERY DAY, SO THAT JUST TELLS YOU HOW HOW WELL HOW MUCH OF RESPONSIBILITY OR TEACHERS HAVE AND WHAT THE GREAT JOB THEY'RE DOING TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT. THAT'S ONE OF THE LAST BOND OF INITIATIVES OF 2017. AND SO ALL THOSE SCHOOLS ALL THOSE PROJECTS ELEMENTARY 23 HAD THE REPLACEMENT FOR HADFIELD, SEVEN HILLS PARKED THE WE'RE DOING A BIG RENOVATION TO NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL, UM, EATING HIGH SCHOOL AND BYRON NELSON HIGH SCHOOL HAVE BOTH BEEN EXPANDED TO 3200 STUDENTS. HIGH SCHOOLS WILL DO THE SAME THING TO THE NORTHWEST, AND IT'LL IT'LL GET THERE PRETTY QUICKLY. YOU SEE ALL THE REST OF THE PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE IN, UM IN THE BOND OF 2021 THE TIMELINES AND YOU CAN JUST REVIEW THESE AS YOU AS YOU NEED TO, BUT WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING A LOT OF WORK OVER THAT. AND IF YOU IF YOU WANT TO JUST SIT DOWN AND TRACK WHAT IT IS, TIM, TIM SCREWED KEEPS A REALLY GOOD ROLLING OF WEBSITE THAT TEREX ALL THE PROJECTS THEY'RE DOING TIMELINES WHERE WE ARE UPDATES EVERYTHING LIKE THAT.
