TONIGHT WE'VE ADDED A NEW ITEM TO THE AGENDA FOR COUNCIL AND MYSELF TO GIVE COMMUNITY A UPDATES ON ANYTHING THAT'S, YOU KNOW, WE'VE DONE MET WITH PEOPLE THIS WEEK, ANYTHING THAT'S KIND OF PERTINENT TO COMMUNITY COUNCIL. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SHARE SPECIFICALLY? OKAY. JUST FOR THE COUNCIL'S UPDATE AT TWO, SINCE OUR LAST MEETING, WE'VE HAD TWO DENTON COUNTY MAYORS MEETING WITH JUDGE EADES. ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS THAT HE BROUGHT UP WAS FUNDING CONCERNS AND BE ABLE TO PARTNER WITH THE TOWNS IN THE FUTURE ON PROJECTS. DUE TO SOME OF THE LEGISLATIVE FUNDING CUTBACKS FROM THE LEGISLATURE.

SO HE'S REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT IN THE FUTURE WHAT KIND OF PARTNERSHIPS HE CAN PROVIDE ON ROADS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. SECONDARILY, WE HAD AN UPDATE STAKEHOLDERS MEETING THIS MONTH WHERE MISTER REDDIG AND OTHERS GAVE UPDATES ON THE. KIND OF THE STATUS OF THE SDC AND JUST THEIR FUNDING AND PROJECTS AND WHEN THINGS ARE COMING ONLINE. SO IT WAS GOOD THERE AS WELL.

AND THE ONLY OTHER THING COUNCIL ACTION THAT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY WAS THE STORMWATER FEES. I PROBABLY TOOK 5 TO 10 CALLS FROM CITIZENS ON THAT, WONDERING WHAT'S THIS NEW FEE ON OUR BILLS? AND EVEN THOUGH WE PROVIDE PACKAGE INSERTS IN THE WATER BILLS AND EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THOSE, BUT THEY WERE GENERALLY, YOU KNOW, THEY UNDERSTOOD WHERE WE CAME FROM AND DOING THIS UNFUNDED MANDATE AND HOW WE FUNDED IT. START WITH A BRIEFING ON THE VEHICLE LEASING PROGRAM. GOOD EVENING COUNCIL. GOOD EVENING MAYOR. THIS IS THE BRIEFING ON OUR PARTNERSHIP THAT WE ARE POTENTIALLY LOOKING AT WITH LEASING. PART OF THE REASON THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT THIS IS THE POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF THE TOWN CASH FLOW BENEFIT, DUE TO NOT HAVING TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRE VEHICLE UPFRONT, AND THE UPFIT THE TIME THAT THE VEHICLE IS BUILT RIGHT NOW, FROM THE TIME WE TAKE DELIVERY OF OUR VEHICLES, IT'S TAKING US ABOUT A YEAR TO GET THEM ON THE STREET. WITH THE LEASING MODEL, THE LEASING COMPANY IN THIS CASE WOULD BE IN CHARGE OF TAKING THOSE, GETTING THOSE VEHICLES, DELIVERING THEM TO THE UPFIT, GETTING THEM UP FITTED.
